God Called. I answered.

Pastor King’s mission is to lead God's beloved people into a closer relationship with Jesus. He has been called to lead the church to move “FROM MEMBERSHIP TO DISCIPLESHIP.”

Pastor Newton King has assumed the leadership of the University Seventh-day Adventist church since September 2016. He is a dynamic speaker who holds his audience in rapt attention.

Pastor King graduated from Andrews University in Berrien Springs, Michigan, with a Master's in Religion with an emphasis in Old Testament Studies and Biblical Archaeology. He also graduated from Western Michigan University with a Master’s in Clinical Psychology. St. Johns College awarded him an honorary doctorate. He entered the ministry in 1974, pastored many churches, and conducted many evangelistic crusades, leading hundreds of people in the waters of baptism.

He has been married to the lovely and charming Dr. Syllette King for 47 years. They have two children, Newton King Jr. and the recently deceased Hersha King. His wife is an Obstetrician and gynecologist who has her own medical practice in the East Orlando area. She is actively involved in the leadership of the church alongside her husband and has impacted the community with her medical and health ministry.
